The basic rhythm section
(consisting of piano, drums, and electric guitar) was recorded on
January 26, 1973 with Terry Brown producing and Dave Slagter
engineering.
Bass guitar, organ, tack piano, guitar licks, vocals, percussion, morse
code and synth effects were added during recording sessions in February
and March 1973.
The "harpsichord" sound was created by recording a "tack" piano with
the tape recorder running at half-normal speed.
The string section and trumpets were recorded on March 10, 1973 with
arrangements by Doug Riley, who also conducted.
The spoken voice heard in the 3rd verse uttering the phrase "It's far
too rude" is producer Terry Brown.
This single was released by the now defunct GRT Records of Canada.
