Remarks:

Unlike Klaatu's debut album
where all the songs had been written well in advance of the recording
sessions, many of the songs on Klaatu's second album were still in
development (in some cases re-written) during the pre-production and
recording phases of that project. This track was one such
work-in-progress and initially was filed in Toronto Sound's tape
library under the provisional title, "intro to lighthouse keeper".
The arpeggiated keyboard part featured on this track was produced by
John and Dee "plucking" the strings of a grand piano in sync with
a pre-recorded click track as the 24-track tape deck was recording at
half-normal tape speed. When played back at normal speed the end result
sounded much like a harpsichord.
The choir-like voices on this track were created by combining several
vocal takes recorded at various non-normal tape speeds. (a similar
technique had been used previously for Sir Bodsworth Rugglesby III).
The ending section of this track was artificially extended by repeated
dubbing of the original shorter ending onto new tape and then splicing
these bits together in series. Additional vocals and instrumentation
were overdubbed onto the elongated version.
